Picture of attending a Zoom webinar (in bed!) with a sleeping child on my lap.
Friday morning began at around 2am with a semi-sick and super exhausted child so I was extremely grateful that remote work exists and Zoom is so remote friendly. Our webinar today was one that I could not miss as it was an introduction to the research process and meeting some of the editors that will ultimately review our work. My topics had all received solid stamps of approval so I was eager to get into some of the research work.
The webinar was very informative and covered many different areas. A huge takeaway for me was the section on resources- I knew that legitimate, verifiable sources were required but I did not think about websites that contained ads. These are (obviously) discouraged because as we are acting as agents of the Library of Congress we want to remain as neutral as possible when it comes to what we are promoting. This may prove to create a bit more digging for me, as I had found numerous sources in newspapers and ads were prolific. Interesting and challenging.
I've decided to complete my weekly check in tomorrow, to give myself a little time to review my research goals and to take care of my daughter.
