The First Day

Today began our first introduction into the LLOC internship. There are around 60 interns from all over the world, all in varying stages of our degrees. Our supervisor, Jennifer, begins each week with a detailed email describing goals, webinars, and expectations. Todays email covers the broad scope of the internship and includes a detailed calendar of webinar topics and times, along with progress due dates and weekly check-in prompts that each intern is required to complete each Friday. Each week is assigned a focus and this week the focus is an introduction to the internship and the Library.

I begin familiarizing myself with the website and the blog, taking special note of any blog posts written by interns. By week three we need to submit topic proposals so I am starting to explore for ideas.
